SOMEONE TELL ME THE WAY TO NEVERLAND
Is this a part of Amygdala? No it is not
Sailor’s not satisfied with what he has written. There are too many things happening at the same time.
Priorities need to change with time. But the difficult part is letting go of priorities which don’t matter and also not falling into the trap of misguided priorities.
In med college, sailor learnt, sacrifice is a part of life. Sacrifice is too big a word, melodramatic. There are a lot of things which need to be compromised or even given up.
Fun is on top of the list. At every level, the elders said “you shouldn’t do this; you should be doing that and instead see how you are wasting your time”
They drive in the fear of god; but what of those who didn’t believe in god?
Like the Sailor. Fun was not compromised. He compromised on sacrifice. And the accordingly the wind blew him to the doldrums.
But this is not the time to regret, and sailor knows no regrets.
But the truth is out there, from the doldrums, he sailed out directly into roughest of seas; onto the edge of a maelstrom. Of course, he is still at the edge, but it is just a matter of time.
Time brings us back to the priorities.
The chicks are cuter than never before.
The whiskey has never been so smooth.
There is a ban on smoking, but that is new way to defy authority
More than any of it, the ideas, born in the fertile plains of imagination, are flowing like a flooded river.
All these are not priorities. Rather they are the ones which need to be struck out.
Amygdala has played out in the sailors head a million times. But it is not the story he started writing. It needs editing; of ruthless nature. Sailor needs, what Stephen King calls a Lit-wife.
And yet that is not the priority.
Priorities change. Comics and novels give way to text books, which look like ancient scrolls containing the secret of life. Friendship gives way to solitude and indulgence gives way to abstinence.
Needs rule over wants.
And the need of the hour is NEVERLAND.
This doesn’t mean Kafka Cafe, will cease to exist. Kafka Cafe will be right here in blogville. And all you denizens of the
A story has waited this long to be told. It will wait a little bit longer. But will be told.
As of now, the white sails beckon. The maelstrom is building up and NEVERLAND is farthest.
Fifteen men on a dead man’s bum
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
To the greatest pirate king
To the jolly roger and scallywag
And the sweetest mermaids
To the beggars and the blighters
To the ol’man of the Dutchman
To scandals and stories
To mommies and daddies
And to those who be damned
Drink up me hearties,YO HO

re anon: i dont get it.
dont you have a name? or you so scared to use it that if you say something in your name, the cover of your diplomatic facade will be blown and you cant hide it with your 'tetracycline' smile :)
boo hoo, too bad
awwwwww....
**Fun was not compromised. He compromised on sacrifice
Im glad u did that anyways. FUN should NEVER be compromised.

Keshi.
re keshi:

re anonymous-whose-identity-i-know:
what you call diplomacy, is a cloak for your insecurity.
re adi:
hello.
playing harder than ever these days. dont know how i ll take one more year of 'social security'.
hope to get thru this time itself
hmmm...so AIIMS has something to do with it.
all the best hope they like you enough.
Let me know if I can help with anything in delhi.
gosh..
people really have already written stuff i think..
anyway true, i do agree wid ya.
medicine demands too much.
but worst part is not the sacrifice.
it is the mentality thts been built up in medicos. they become weird. real weird, cheap, all-the-time jealous n such stuff.
simplest way to put it is, most of em lack sensibility.
anyway one more nice post.
cheers.
re phoenix:
lack of sense landed most ppl in medicine :)
he he.. true
but see one more thing is there.. at the age of 17 , one doesnt even know wht options he or she has.. jss becz u get marks, ur parents n relatives n everyone jss pushes u in it..
whteva
so before u get tht sensibility, you re pushed into the profession. and yea as i can put it, its like a growth retardation. medicine doesnt let sensibility grow in most of the students.. wateva... no meanin of complainin.. be happy..
re phoenix: there is also this one more thing called math.
which some ppl (like me) can never figure out. like integral calculus, if integration is the reverse of differentiation, why do both in the same problem to the same equation to get some answer which has more letters of the alphabet than my name.
some ppl are just meant for medicine, no matter how much they crib :)
